Principally Speaking...

Spring KCCT Results Are In!

This past week we received the results from the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) that all 3^rd – 5^th graders took last spring. I am pleased to announce that once again TCE met all NCLB targets (15 out of 15).

While the state is in the process of changing the testing system formally called CAT, we are still committed to making sure that all students and the school continue to make progress towards Proficiency. During this period schools are using a transition index to measure how they are doing compared to past years. TCE improved in all tested areas (Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and On Demand Writing)! Our overall transition index in 2006 – 2007 was 76.88, in 2007 – 2008 it was 85.16, and in 2008 – 2009 TCE obtained a transition index of 91.54!

I am very proud of our students and staff and look forward to watching them continue to grow and improve again this school year.
